      This works the same way as curving a ball

      The spin on the top and bottom cylinders is up-spin which gives it lift

      If it was moving the other way, it would fall very fast because the spin would be down-spin

      The force from the spin that is excreted onto the object comes from the area in which the spin is going in the same direction as the motion of the whole object

      Edit: Adding to previous paragraph: In this case, the bottom of the spinning cylinder is going the same way as the whole aircraft. That is where the force is and if a force is at the bottom, then the object gets pushed up
